The Wishes of the Iraqis on the Occasion of the Noble Birthday of the Prophet
This episode of the program was denoted to receive telephone calls from the Citizens and allows them to air their wishes and views on the occasion; for that Dr. Mohammed Al-Ta’ee the producer and presenter of the program opened a direct line to be used by the viewers for the above purpose.
The first call came from a Mrs. Um Kareem from Baghdad, who wished that the politicians work for the Iraqi People and reconcile among their selves, in order to fulfill the Citizens’ demands. She, also, called upon the Government to release the prisoners, who are proven to be not involved in terrorist crimes.
A second call came from a Mr. Abu Jawad, also from Baghdad, who stressed on the need to establish the National Unity; and he called upon the politicians to unify their word and act on serving Iraq and its People. He, also, wished that security and safety prevail all over the country.
From London, a call came from Mr. Said Ibrahim, who emphasized the importance of applying law in Iraq and not to subject it to bargaining. He, also, stressed on the need that law be above anything else; and he wished for facilitating the return procedures for the displaced, whether inside or outside the country. Then, he added that the Government ought to provide services for the Citizens.
Another call came from a Mr. Abu Zahra, from Hilla, who demanded from the Government an increase on the salaries of the Social Welfare. While a Mr. Jafar, from Al- Adhamiya, called to hope that the Government pays attention to the pensioners and increases their salaries in proportion to the cost of living.
A Mr. Ammer called from Hilla to wish that the Government pays attention to the unemployed graduates, and provide them with work openings; while Mr. Wesam, from Al- Ummarah, complained, in his call, about the high rental and purchase costs of residences; thus he called for looking into that and reach a solution for it.
In turn a Mr. Amjad called, from Brussels to wish that security and peace prevails over Iraq; at the same time he called for the need to hold to account anyone, whose hands are smeared with the blood of the Iraqis; and that the Government does not go easy on anyone that harms Iraq and its People, in whatever post or position they are. Then a Mr. Mohammed called from Salah Al-Deen to ask for reducing the work hours for the members of the Iraqi Army, and to allow them time to enjoy their leaves and see their families, every now and then.
The episode included a large number of telephone calls from Citizens, from various Governorates, in which they stressed on the need that the political blocs unify their address, and that security and peace prevails all over Iraq.
At the end of this episode, Dr. Mohammed Al- Ta’ee related the wishes of Al-Fayha’a Channel’s staff and other Iraqi journalists in general that the Journalists Union accelerates the execution of the procedures of allotting pieces of land to the journalists; pointing, at the same time, to the bureaucracy of work at the government offices that, at time, delays the procedures. He, also, valued the efforts of the Head of the Journalists Union in the matter. He, also, re-expressed the wish of Al-Fayha’a Channel for completing the procedures on the request submitted by the Channel to be allowed a piece of land, either by sale or investment, in Baghdad, on which to build an institution for radio and TV work, in which to train young Iraqis on various fields of journalism and media work, free of charge; an initiative that will benefit the whole media field in Iraq. To that he mentioned that P.M. Noori Al- Maliki has agreed on the allotment, and the matter was referred to the Mayor of Baghdad, but with no results, despite that Al-Fayha’a had, twice, presented requests for the land.
